Bowman’s Arrow a very bad idea says dozen of West Jordan residents

The city council meeting was one of the biggest of the year to date. Nearly every seat was taken by local residents either testifying against Bowman’s Arrow, the very high density residential project located at 7800 and Mountain view Corridor.

Issues brought up during the public comment portion of the West Jordan City Counsel included how adding a very high density project included school overcrowding, traffic congestion, and higher crime rates.

“West Jordan is growing a lot and it seems like everybody wants to just put all the apartments all of the homes out in this area and it would be nice to keep in consideration of what is already here and within that area within about a one mile radius you have four to five apartment complexes already that are very high density so to add that to that area already is just it’s not a smart idea,” said Karlee Lewis.

The developer claims, “The nature of the project is to mix land use type (such as medium density, high density, very high density and community commercial) to create a cohesive community. Development in Bowman’s Arrow is meant to match adjacent densities and support surrounding commercial centers while minimizing potential impacts on the transportation network”.
